Material. Everything your drink touches is 304 food-grade stainless steel. The outer shell is 201 stainless with a brushed finish, and the cap and carry bail are steel as well. There is no painted coating to chip, no printed logo to wear off and no plastic spout to drink through.
Washing. Hand wash. The mouth is wide enough for a hand or a bottle brush, which is the whole job where it has held water. If it has held coffee or tea, warm water and a little bicarbonate of soda every few weeks keeps the next fill tasting of nothing. Dry the outside and leave the cap off overnight so the inside airs.
Not for the dishwasher. Sustained dishwasher heat is hard on a vacuum seal, so this one stays out of the machine — and with a mouth this wide it never really needed it.
Insulation. Double-wall vacuum, rated by the manufacturer at roughly six to twelve hours depending on what goes in and how often you open it. Fill it with something already hot or already cold: a vacuum wall holds a temperature, it does not create one.

A narrow neck is fine until July, when you want cubes in it, or until washing day, when you want to get inside it. This one opens wide. Ice goes in whole rather than being posted through one cube at a time, a bottle brush reaches the bottom without bending, and what meets your mouth is a rolled steel rim rather than a plastic spout. It is the detail you notice on the first morning and again every time you rinse it.

How long does it actually keep things hot or cold?
The manufacturer rates the double-wall vacuum at roughly six to twelve hours. That is a range rather than a single number for an honest reason: it depends on how full the bottle is, what temperature went in and how often the cap comes off. A full bottle opened twice holds far longer than a half-empty one opened all morning. Fill it with something already hot or already cold — a vacuum wall holds a temperature, it does not create one.
Will ice cubes fit?
Yes, and that is rather the point of the wide mouth. Standard cubes drop in whole instead of being posted through a narrow neck one at a time.
Will it travel in a bag?
It closes with a threaded steel cap onto a food-grade seal, tightened by hand. Done up properly it travels upright in a bag or a bottle pocket without trouble. As with any screw-cap bottle, give it a firm turn rather than a light one before it goes in beside a laptop.
Is there any plastic in it?
None that you drink through. The interior is 304 food-grade stainless steel, the cap screws on in steel and the carry bail is steel wire — there is no plastic spout, no straw and no painted coating anywhere on it. Like every screw-cap bottle, the cap carries a food-grade seal so that it closes tight.
Can it go in the dishwasher?

Dry the outside after washing, as you would any brushed steel.
Can I put coffee or tea in it?
