Materials and care
Materials and care
Material. Glass throughout — the ribbed hive-shaped body, the lid, the bee ornaments and the drizzle rod.
Care. Hand wash in warm water and dry. The ribbing and the applied bees are what make it, and they are also what a dishwasher rack knocks against, so wash it by hand.
If it crystallises. All good honey does. Stand the jar in warm water for a few minutes and it clears — do not microwave it, both for the jar's sake and because heat spoils honey.

Honey that gets left out on purpose.
A beehive, with bees on it.
Ribbed like a skep, with small glass bees applied to the body and one sitting on the lid as a finial. It is unapologetically decorative — this is a honey jar bought because someone will smile at it, not because it is the most rational container for honey. On a breakfast table or as a gift, that is exactly the right reason.
- Ribbed hive body
- Applied glass bees
- Bee finial on the lid
450ml, which is a whole jar.
Nine centimetres tall and ten across, holding 450ml — enough to decant a standard 340g jar of honey with room over, so you are not left with a spoonful in the original jar. Big enough to be worth the ritual of filling, small enough to sit on a table without dominating it.
- 450ml capacity
- 9cm tall, 10cm across
- Takes a 340g jar
It arrives looking like a present.
Glass, decorative and immediately understandable — which is what makes something a good gift rather than a good product. It suits a housewarming, a host, or anyone who keeps proper honey rather than a plastic squeezy bottle. The drizzle rod is included, so there is nothing else to buy.
- Reads as a gift
- Rod included
- Housewarmings and hosts
Questions
Frequently asked about this jar
How much does it hold?
450ml — enough to take a standard 340g jar of honey with room to spare.
How big is it?
9cm tall and 10cm across, with a 6 × 6cm lid.
Is a dipper included?
A glass drizzle rod is included. It is a smooth rod rather than a grooved wooden dipper — if you prefer the grooved kind, our acacia dipper pairs with it.
Is it borosilicate glass?
The supplier's description says only "premium clear glass" and never states borosilicate, so we are not claiming it. It is a cold-serve jar and there is no reason to put anything hot in it.
What happens when the honey crystallises?
All good honey does eventually. Stand the jar in warm water for a few minutes and it clears. Do not microwave it — heat spoils honey and the jar has applied glass detail on it.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Hand wash. The ribbing and the applied bees are the whole appeal and they are exactly what gets chipped against a dishwasher rack.
How does it compare to your acacia honey jar?
Opposite characters. The acacia jar is a plain glass cylinder with a wooden lid, a gasket and a dipper fixed through it — calm and practical. This is a decorative glass beehive with bees on it, and it publishes a 450ml capacity. Pick on whether you want the quiet one or the one people comment on.
What if I'm not satisfied?
Thirty days to change your mind, no hassle. If it is not right we will put it right.
Quality has a cost. Middlemen shouldn't.
Real customers. Real breakfast tables.
Everyone who sees it picks it up. That is the whole point of it.
450ml took the whole jar we had open with room left.
Bought as a gift and had to buy a second one.
The little glass bees are properly applied, not printed on.
Warm water cleared it when it crystallised, exactly as described.
Lid sits properly and the finial is a lovely detail.
Looks far better on the table than a supermarket jar.
Rod is included so there was nothing else to buy.
Ribbing catches the light with honey behind it.
